    Hi

Last week someone drove into my front bumper in a car park and lightly scratched it - it's a bmw 5 series f10 msport. The CCTV footage proved inconclusive.

I could go to carcraft and get it re-done but that would cost €200-300 and they're not bad enough for that so just wanted a good machine polish on the corner of the bumper to reduce the effect. I know it won't be perfect.

I rang Spirit detailing and they wont do it and I can't get through to Elite.

Any ideas of a place that would provide this service - think it would take literally 10mins with a DA polisher and some polish?

Go to any body shop or crash repair place and they will do it for you. They all have the equipment to polish away blemishes.

Thats why they won't do it. These guys are anal about perfection.

Also 10 minutes with a DA? lol, have you ever used a DA before? It'll take a lot longer than 10 minutes with a DA to take out scratches from someone reversing into it and thats only if the clear coat is scratched, generally those scratches are barely visible anyway, except under strong lighting.

Machine polishing might reduce the effect of the scratching, but it'll take a lot longer than 10 minutes and will still be noticeable

If it's only through the lacquer they will be able to polish it so it's invisible. A friend of mine had quite bad scratches on a wheel arch. The main dealer was able to polish it out with a rotary in half an hour.
