Fibre Gone All Day

My Vodafone broadband(fibre) has been gone all day, it worked perfectly up to last night then this morning from about 9pm it was showing as having no signal.

I have tried different cables and a different modem but still no broadband:mad:

My new neighbours have been moving in over the weekend and I am thinking that they may have ordered fibre from eir or sky or even Vodafone and that the person connecting their line to the fibre cabinet may have made a mistake and robbed my fibre for them?

I rang support but to be honest they don't exactly give much confidence in being able to do anything to fix it and gave a timeframe of 3 to 10 days:eek: to have it checked out.

Is it normal for broadband to just stop dead like it has? the signal has dropped completely, no warning or slow connection or other indication of trouble, it is like they just disconnected it.

    Is your phone still working?
Are you late paying your bill?

no phone line, broadband only, and bill paid on time by direct debit.

Yeah I don't know then. If you've tried another router and you are certain that it's working then tech support is going to be your best bet.

I'd register a complaint with the vodafone crew here and on their own forum. It seems to be the best way of escalating a problem with them.

If it was DSL you lost then its possible KNN "stole" your pair for next door, not impossible. But there could have been a litany of other failures that caused it too. 2-4 days to get a tech out, such is residential broadband.

Just had Eir technician here and that is exactly what happened, line was taken for someone else because it is a broadband only line there is no dial tone to warn KNN or others that it is live and in use. sorted in a quick trip to the cabinet but now hava a new battle to get the profile maxed out as the line was reduced to 80/20 from the 100/20 which i used to have:(

this is the modem stats now
