Guys, lost power steering and all fluid today.

My mechanic said its the hose on the power steering pump. He has it removed but mentioned that the pet alone is €370ish plus VAT!

Told me to check if I can get it repaired in the likes of hose doctor or Pirtec?
    Anyone ever do this?

    Car is a 2002 ML270 W163 model.

    Thanks.

It is worth a call. If they have to correct ends it is likely that it would be better the an original and a lot cheaper. They may even call to the garage and make the pipe on site from the van

Cheers. Went to Hydraseal in Blanch as I was stuck for time. They couldn't do anything as the burst was on the mild steel pipe rather than the hose. They said it would have to be welded.

Ended up inanmlocal fabricator and he put a small weld on it and fixed it. Now to get it refitted and hopefully it holds up.
