    Hiya,

Looking for a bit of advice. I know that gis/gid is required for gas works to domestic heating ( houses) but is the above cert required for commercial/industrial? I work for a large mechanical contractor ( nationwide) and we install gas pipework on various projects, are industrial plumbers required now to have the above cert before we can install/alter new/ existing gas pipework or is it just the company needs it?

If you were involved in a coroners court giving evidence how would you prove your competence as a experienced gas worker?

Having domestic courses under your belt helps protect you but is not a requirement as far as I'm aware.

But as mentioned it's a coming.

I'm nearly sure Metac are running courses and 2017 is when you'll need to be certified to work on commercial.
