Tv on mantle piece

    Hi would there be any problems with puttinbthe tv on a mantle piece.? Regaring heat from the fire . It doesnt get over hot on it . And should fit grand

    How high is the mantle and how close do you sit to it? If you have to look up at a good angle from your normal seated position then it's not going to work - think being sat in the front row of the cinema.

    What about soot, ash and general dust from the fireplace? Is it an open fire / stove? If so, I'd be very reluctant. Gas / electric fire probably OK-ish though.

    Mantle from floor is prob a good 4/5ft high. Ibgeneraly sit opposit end of the room from it. Its open fire. But mantle comes out more on top so its got some dept to it
