Do you reckon it's a fair price? I would be trading in a 2006 Fiesta with 127k on the clock. I was in that garage two weeks ago and the guy mentioned a 2k trade in against whatever he had (that car wasn't there then).

I do very little mileage so no need for a diesel. I would certainly consider other options but nothing over the price of the above. I'd like something biggish and comfortable or something sporty.

I would have liked a Celica but they are getting on a bit now so would like to move a year or two up rather than going backwards.

Thanks in advance for any thoughts shared.

Just remember that that price might not be the trade-in price. Garages generally advertise their lowest straight deal asking price rather than trade-in price. Don't be surprised if the cost to change with your Fiesta is not far off that asking price, in other words they will probably want a bit more than 8900 with your Fiesta.

Petrol Accords themselves are very reliable.

I cant be certain but I got the impression that he meant 2k off anything he had in stock. I was really just browsing the time I was there and he knew it so didn't pay to much attention to me, fair enough really.

The smart thing to do would be to sell it myself but I'm a bit weary of doing that tbh.

I think it's priced fairly and would say nothing to put you off buying it considering your requirments.

I'd love one myself to be honest.

Heard some awful stories about very arrogant sales staff in that dealer but I'm sure the Honda itself is a good buy being what it is. Your story of how they didn't bother giving you much notice backs that up. I know of someone who was told that the sales guy "wouldn't waste his petrol bringing them on a test drive" as "they couldn't afford the car" that was for sale. Take from that what you will!

For all I know they could be selling duds but on a personal level the guy I talked to was fine. He gave me a price for my car, asked what I was looking for, and made a few suggestions. I wasn't specific and he could tell I didn't have one car I was very interested in so it was fair enough that he left me to it.

An Insight isn't even in the same league as an Accord.

I was looking for something left field but an Insight wouldn't be the sort of thing I'm looking for.

Was browsing today and saw a nice 08 3 series coupe. Bit over budget but it would in my mind be something a bit special. Any problems with the 320i I should know about? I know there is problems with the n47 diesel engines but not sure about those?

Forgot to mention I was considering going for an 08/9 Saab 9-3 as a cheaper option. Is there any problems with those? I have heard people with the earlier ones had a lot of problems.

The petrol engines in the 3 Series from mid 2007 with efficient dynamics can suffer from injector problems.

Take a look at the petrol Audi A5 too.

I went car shopping with a mate there 12 months ago. I won't tell the full story but the above was very similar to the treatment we got. They have a serious chip on their shoulder for some reason.

The A5 didn't even cross my mind. Will have a look.
