I have a set of mk2 mud gaurds. I'm somehow after losing the plastic nut and bolt from it, it's in step 2 of this image

Does anyone know if any bike shops might have a spare one of these or where in Dublin city would have plastic nut and bolts? I want to stay away from a metal one if possible?

You can buy replacement sets of screws for these online. Shops probably stock them too.

As an aside, I had a set of these guards and had the rear implode when the plastic bolts got shook loose after 100km or so. Crap design imo.

I've lost several of them as they're rubbish. If you can find a small alloy similar size then use them. I have mine held on with small zip ties in several places, they're much more reliable.

Ah didn't realise that at all, thanks.

Yea I really don't like them, the "arms" on the front mudguard keep sagging in and hitting my spokes making a really annoying noise.

Any suggestions on a better set?

That doesn't sound right, are you certain you have the correct arm on each side (I think they're marked left and right), and they're orientated correctly? If they're right, try rotating the parts attached to the fork by rubber bands outwards.

The only problems I've had with the cruds is tyre clearance, and catching my foot in the front one a couple of times :D

I should have a spare nut and bolt from an old set if you're not binning them entirely.

If you are binning them I'll give you a contribution to deposit them in my bin...... I've had mine on a winter bike for 2 years. There are some parts that need to be replaced now though.

I'm not throwing out my old set. It's sitting in the shed as spares for the set I got this winter.

This was directed at Peck and Cee Jay. I was giving the alternative as a corollary of your final comment
