Water only Vs water + central heating costs

    Hi,
I have a gas boiler with a switch beside the tank for water heat only or water and radiators. I never use the timer, only the +1 hour button. Mostly I have it set for water only which I switch on manually (+1) once a day for shower.....usually I only leave it running for about half an hour as that provides enough water for the shower. I avoid switching on the heating unless it gets really cold. My question is am I saving that much by just heating the water for a half hour/hour or would I be as well off to have the rads on too, as the boiler is on anyway. (I presume it does cost more to have both on buy is there much in it?)

    Thanks.

The more you heat the more it costs. However if you need both, then its probably a little better to do both at the same time.
