"Judge McCabe said he believed the the appropriate sentence was four years in prison. However, he said the terms in which he will deal with the case will depend on Mr Ring’s conduct over the next year.

He said it may be possible to deal with this other than by imposing a custodial sentence. However he would give “no guarantee whatsoever” that this would be the outcome"

What did he get away with exactly?

We know nothing other than the limited information in the article. The case has been adjourned, nothing more.

Doesn't sound like his family are going to sort it our for him....

"“His family will not speak to him at all since this,” said Mr Garavan who said they were disgusted and shamed by it"

Erm...the case is adjourned while his conduct is assessed.

It seems you know the outcome. What happens in a year so?

Nothing like every outcome in this country.

Nothing like every outcome in this country.

Actually, people are imprisoned for sexual assault all the time in this country.

The Judge even commented that the going rate appears to be 4 years.

You say that it's actually 0, this is "every outcome in this country".

I think I'm going with the Judge on this one. Your position sounds...made up.

Who said he had either money or a troubled childhood ?
(I thought for a minute I'd found myself in one of those liberal.ie Facebook articles)

If it had been a judges daughter do you think the case would have been adjourned for a year ?

Smuggle in a bit of undeclared garlic = no conduct assessment, thrown in clinky.

Sexually assault teenage girl, = conduct assessment before deciding if clinky time, and if so for how long.

    Gotta love Ireland's justice system.

    The blokes solicitor.
r Garavan said a psychiatric report showed his client came from a “disfunctional background” and had been “quite clearly sexualised from a very young age”. The court heard his parents were alcoholics and his background was reflected in his very immature and inappropriate actions.

I believe this is still an ongoing case so we can't talk about it.
If anyone has any info to the contrary, please drop me a PM.
