    Hi,

What does this mean? "Prior to receipt of the formal employment contract, this role can be withdrawn at any time."

    Just accepted a job offer.

Until you receive a formal paper contract the company can rescind the role, i.e. withdraw the offer.

It means that they can change their minds. Once you have the signed contract in your hand then it is binding.

Once it's signed by both parties.

Except that until it's on paper signed by then, you don't really have an offer.

Most people don't resign until they get the offer on paper, just in case something changes between the verbal discussion and the official offer.

Employers who are worth moving to don't mind waiting while you complete your notice in the old job.

Yes but they wanted me to start beginning of April, so I can't just tell my current employer one week before I start that I have a new job.

If they want you to start that quickly, then you can expect them to be similarly unhelpful to you in the rest of your time there. Like I said, good employers wait. Good luck.

Maybe thats why so many people don't have a job, because they don't want to take chances :)

When I was living in the Netherlands they wanted me to come to ireland in 3 days, I decided to go on 2nd January instead.. no problem and job was great to start with.

People need to take chances in their life
