Can someone shed light on the procedure whereby a solicitor issues proceedings? What should one expect from the other party and what sort of a timeline is involved? Thanks

No, it involves a land dispute.

The type of proceedings can vary vastly and as a result the steps in the proceedings vary as a consequence.

If it's land proceedings it could be literally hundreds of things from a Section 120 Applicaton which goes through the High Court Land List which is filed in the Land Registry to Plenary Hearings which are heard in the High Court proper.

The procedures involved depend on the specific basis or nature of the matter and where and how it is to be tried.

Many types of cases will have common rules, practices and procedures and some will not. That is why a solicitor is the one to give the specific information peculiar to whatever matter you have on hand.
