    Yawn. the 11 million was already spent on the land, back during the boom. It's a sunk cost, and a red-herring as far as this conversation goes.

    Maybe that land should be used for building houses for non-travellers. Maybe it should be used for traveller-specific accommodation. Either way - the council has a legal responsibility to allocate land and funding for both sorts of accommodation.

    This covers not only what the city spends its money on, but also what private developers are allowed to do, too.

    What sort of ancient maps were they using when they drafted this?

    One of the sites highlighted is now the location of the new school in Knocknacarra.
    Further up the Ballymoneen Rd, it doesn't display the existing housing estates, Drisín, Slí Gheal & Fána Buí which were pretty much complete 10 years ago.
