Should we the tax payers not have a say in what our local council spends €11 million on? I would rather see this money used to build affordable housing for over 100 families .... EQUALITY FOR ALL PEOPLE

Yawn. the 11 million was already spent on the land, back during the boom. It's a sunk cost, and a red-herring as far as this conversation goes.

Maybe that land should be used for building houses for non-travellers. Maybe it should be used for traveller-specific accommodation. Either way - the council has a legal responsibility to allocate land and funding for both sorts of accommodation.

What sort of ancient maps were they using when they drafted this?

One of the sites highlighted is now the location of the new school in Knocknacarra.
Further up the Ballymoneen Rd, it doesn't display the existing housing estates, Drisín, Slí Gheal & Fána Buí which were pretty much complete 10 years ago.
