2005 BMW 318d - central locking not working after NCT?

    Hi folks,

sister-in-law got her car tested today. Passed. However, coincidentally the central locking no longer works on the fob. Spare key (which was working fine) also fails to lock/unlock the car. Only option is to use the emergency blade to open/close doors. Any suggestions ? I'm sure it's just coincidental that it happened immediately after the test.

It is a coincidence but annoying still. You can try disconnecting battery for 20 mins and see if that helps. You may need to have a radio code for your stereo.

Cheers Biko, I'll check fuses first as the complete CL is down. Manual locking only.

Will it lock/unlock using the button on the dash?
If so keys may need reprogramming.
If not then I would check fuses as you say.

Apparently, fuses 56&57 are integral to CL. 56 was blown. As it happened, when the car landed on my door this evening, I seen that the CL would lock but not open so boot with emergency key was first on the list to gain access to battery and manual release for filler cap. Fuses are a pig to access when front passenger door will not open!

New 15A in slot 56 and voila, everything opens.....bar the rear offside door so I'm guessing a reg/motor has failed and this possibly threw the fuse to begin with. Better situation than before but still facing a bstrd of a job to gain access behind the card with door not opening. I'm guessing the card will have to be damaged in order to do so......

    Will update with progress report!

    Cheers
