    HI all,
Looking for advice I have seen a 131 qashqai that I've fallen in love with and is a great price, however the mileage is 90,000miles/145,000km (my own 07 car has 141k km)
I test drove it today, and the only thing stopping me is the mileage. The price obviously reflects this, but would I be mad to get a car with such a huge mileage? I asked about servicing and was told the next one is due at 155k km. If I did buy doubt it'll be serviced before hand.

Would really appreciate some advice as I'm a novice in this area.

Depends on history and if there's anything wrong with it. 30,000 miles per year isn't a huge issue on a well maintained car but you'll be married to it if it you do any sort of decent mileage. I'm not sure if there are any weak points on the Qashqai of that eera, you need to look into that. Would want 3-4 services in the book at the very least in my opinion.

Petrol or diesel? Any service history?

It's a diesel. I didn't ask about service history....will do on Monday though (see I really haven't a clue) When I commented on mileage he said it's reflected in the price, which it really is.
Loads to think about for someone hasn't a breeze 😂

Go for a google and see if there are any common issues with them. Check the service history. Is it a timing belt or chain? Give it a good drive and check for any clunking or knocking from the suspension. Make sure it changes gears without any grinding at higher than normal revs. Make sure clutch isn't slipping.

With no history I'd forget about it, with history it could be a good buy if price reflects. Are they offering a decent of warranty?

IMHO to answer your question directly - yes i think you would be mad.
Getting a car 6 years newer than your current car that has 4,000 km MORE than your current car. So it has the same wear and tear as your own car only squashed into a much shorter time frame so prob had a tougher life!

If you really like the qashqai (ie the car rather than the price!!!!) shop around and get a different qashqai.
If its the newer number plate you like its a different question.

At 141km on a 07 what kind of annual mileage do you do?

That sort of mileage in 3 years is probably motorway miles and very little stress on the engine.

Cars these days are well suited to big mileage.

My car is aug 2012 and approaching 250,000 km and i don't expect to change until 2018 and expect it to be about 400k at that stage.

Gets an annual check at a main dealer but servicing done by local garage.

Basically, big mileage is not a big concern on modern cars.

High mileage + High price is a typical Irish thing.

Absolutely but my comments were directed at the OP and his particular set of circumstances
I dont think your situation is directly comparable.
