Is there any free online service/site that I can check what a cars tax will be by car type.
Motortax.ie want the reg but I'm looking at cars in the UK so it won't accept it.

Can someone also tell me what tax Il'd pay for an 09 A6 3.0 lemans. (Facelift model). I'm getting a c02 of 189 and 222 and not sure which one it is.

You can have different figures for almost identical examples of identical models.
Motor tax.ie with reg number, cartell.ie with uk reg number.
Parkers.co.uk would have general info, but really you'd want to have the reg number.

I use www.whatcar.com and find it good for reviews etc and tax rates

You need the emissions figure for the car to be 100 percent sure however try vca car fuel data. Its a uk government site so if you have the full spec of the car, it will be pretty accurate.

You will be able to get the CO2 from entering the UK reg number into this website for free. https://www.vehicleenquiry.service.gov.uk/ you can also see some MOT history at this website https://www.check-mot.service.gov.uk/

Using the CO2 figure check the tax rates at motortax.ie

Link to two cars.

1 is showing 189 and the other is showing 222 for c02. I'm thinking the preface lift are the higher emissions. Therefore the 189 would be €750 tax which is good for that size engine.

Don't take the autotrader figure as gospel, it's often wrong.double check reg on another site too with the reg,

Cartell was just what I needed, gives me the C02 for UK vehicles.

Yep the facelift is 189 while the old model is 222.

Agree, put both into cartell and both are as displayed.

€750 might sound good for that size , but no way would I pay this amount

242bhp for €750 tax sounds like a bargin to me.
Lemans cars are fully loaded too. €60+k car for €15k

3.0 Rare as hens teeth in Ireland too

Everyone was happy paying 600 for their 1.9tdi prior to 2008.
Now 750 is too much for a nice 6 cylinder 3.0 engine. I don't think so. It a good rate for what you get. Sure you could go newer and save 400 more in tax but the car might be 50k.

sure its okay - you get what you pay for = just for me personally , I would never want / need a 3.0
