    Happened to me only last week! A sort of a "spot" crack, an inch above the bottom edge, & rough to touch... Have windscreen cover on my insurance, called the next day (a Friday) and made an appointment for repair on the Monday. By the time he arrived, a 1mm spur had started to develop from it, so, glad I didn't leave it any longer or a whole windscreen replacement might have been required.

    Or of there's a frosty night. My hubby's had a teeny crack like that and insisted he didn't need anything done with it. It grew a good bit one night when it was particularly icy.
