    Depends where out foreign and what legal system they have for compensation. Perhaps Google the lawyers name to see if they have had any cases good or bad to report on.

    Injuries like whiplash and say certain back injuries that can't really be measured may not have as big a payout in Germany as here. Something like say a lost limb or permanent scaring to face or visible parts of the body would likely have a standardish amount you could expect. You should discuss with them how payment to them will work, will it form part of your portion if they claim is successful or will they be able to take their costs from outside this. Also check if unsuccessful will you be liable for full costs including the party you are seeking damages from, if you are it could lead to bankrupcy depending on how much costs are.
