Trying to fit a carrier. Bought it in halfords. The bolts seem to be bigger than the holes in the bike. Are these not standardised?

That's strange usually the bolt holes are for accepting m5 size bolts . the same size as the bolts for a bottle cage . Is it a very old bike ? you could use Pclips if you can't mount it , I think halfords sell them for a euro a pair .

Thanks. Those P clips look like they might work. The bike only 2 years old. Have had a few issues with it. I think it is a poorly designed bike.

It wouldn't be just a layer of paint and lacquer decreasing the size of the holes would it, or is it a pretty big difference?

    Get some smaller bolts?
