Working in Clonee- The Commute

    Hi Board members,

I have a quick question and I am hoping some one can help me. In a few weeks I will begin working in Clonee. Just near the village. As I am relocating from down the country I am a bit clueless in regards the area and travel times.

I am looking at renting a room in either Blanchardstown, Cabra, Smithsfield etc..
I do not actually drive so I am wondering about travel times in the morning. Is the traffic bad heading into Clonee? How long would it take from say Cabra to Clonee by bus? Work starts at 8am so I would be travelling early.

I am considering Blanchardstown but I think I want to be closer to the city. Hence the Cabra question. I know the bus runs along the way.

I would be really grateful if anyone can tell me more about the commutes from the mentioned areas. Many thanks.

The bus you need is the 70. There is one departure at 7am from Burlington Road. This passes through Cabra at around 7.20 and is scheduled to arrive in Clonee at around 7.45.

You can track the bus using the Dublin Bus app.

Clonee is also served by the 270 which runs between Blanchardstown and Dunboyne. It might be helpful if you miss a connection with the 70 as you could transfer to another bus in Blanchardstown to take you back to Cabra.

It's a straightforward journey and you should have no problem commuting. Make sure you use Leap card to save on fares and it's worth asking if your employer offers the Tax Saver scheme which will save you further.

When you say looking to live in Blanchardstown, do you mean the old Blanchardstown village, or the whole D15 area people call Blanchardstown?
Because if it's the latter, you could look at Littlepace of Castaheney and you can walk to Clonee from there.
