Considering move to aviation leasing/finance

    Hello,

Apologies if this is posted in the wrong area!

I have 3-4 years PQE in an unrelated field and really want to make the move into aviation finance. I don't mind entering as NQ or to a lesser PQE. Can anyone tell me what the hours are like (are all nighters the norm or leaving the office after midnight). Is the majority of the work drafting? Does it require any travelling? I thought about contacting aviation lawyers on Linked In to ask but didn't think I would get a reply.

Any advice or insight is welcome

I had a friend who did appraisals as a financial analyst at a large aviation lessor and worked long enough hours but for good pay. My understanding is that aviation finance is pretty broad, you may need to be more specific on what role you are looking to get into.

The money is crazy, the hours can be crazy at the highest level. But, its about the fall on its ass.

Why do you think it's about to fall on it's ass, I would have thought it is flying (pardon the pun), massive expertise here now, loads of companies based here, and 12.5% Corporation Tax.

Then why did one of the biggest international players in aviation finance sign a €3.6 million lease for an office block in Dublin 2? Surely they wouldnt not commit that much if it was about to fail
