Travelling Work

Just wondering what kinda of options are out there for lets say a job working abroad-ish and either commuting back to Ireland or active jobs in Ireland.

I need to travel or do something better than what I am doing. I looked at the cruiseships but everyone I talk to has warned me off these.

Cabin Crew I could not handle.

Has anyone ever done these Ski working holidays? Do they pay well are they good.
Or working in one of the amusement parks like Disney or something like that..

    Any advice welcome..

Have you considered cruise ship work? Generally you work anywhere from 4-6 months then get 6-8 weeks off

Mate of mine works for Ericsson, is constantly travelling to weird and wonderful places, just back from Brunai and Malaysia, before that was in Germany, did the Caribbean islands before that, then Nigeria, then Barbados, then Rwanda, can't remember before that.

You'd have to get upskilled in IT but they'd pay you to go see some amazing spots :D

Have you considered being a nanny or governess? I have seen some jobs adverts on estate and manor website that are located worldwide and the money looks good too

Please update the thread if you find anything, I've been thinking about this a lot lately myself, would love to try a season on the cruise ships.

Hello sorry have been away... Havent found anything to suit yet, just plan on moving counties instead :)... I heard about the governess before but would have been put off with all the au pair stories you here. Will check this out again though as im going be looking for new work soon..

Thargor have you ever tried Paddy Wagen tours I know someone who worked there and they didn't mind it.If you wanted to stay in Ireland that is... You should chance the cruise ships come back and tell us :).. Met a man recently who works as an engineer on a yacht was well jealouse but he said it wares off after a while the travelling bug

I know the Paddywagon guys but I think touring Ireland would be a bit boring, very few places left on the island that I havent been, Id absolutely love a decent job on a cruise ship with a different port every couple of days.

Yeah I suppose to get future afield a ship would be handy. Ill ask there for you i know one chap working on one but tis out foreign most defianlty passed Ireland... haha

Oh please do if you get a chance, I dont care if I spend the whole tour washing dishes or mopping floors as long as I get to do it. You'd kind of imagine they'd be using agency workers with the worst conditions they can get away with though like you hear about on the ferries but maybe not...

Ill be back to you. Yeah the ferries are supposed to be shocking well they were a few years ago. My sister worked on them and said while it was fun it was tough work and that you would really want to watch things there... I have two pals there im waiting to hear back from...It does sound nice alright to be travell seeing all you can.. I wonder though do you get that feeling when you get of a boat for a few days like your still at sea. That isnt nice at all....

There was a website i applied on before for jobs but didnt hear much but then i wasnt watching too long either. was it allcruise ship or something like that.

Have you considered doing a TEFL Course and teaching English abroad as a foreign language? Seem to be a lot of opportunities for this in far flung places such as China etc.

Hello blondchick sorry I didn't see the reply.. I thought about it before alright but well got married.... Great news as such got well to travel to different county to live so now just need a job there going to look into the nanny thing perhaps..

Sorry I didn't get anything back with the Ferries Thargor
