Replacing a DIY install boiler

I'm interested in opinions from the sage boardsies.

Current system is a wood pellet boiler which is in an outhouse. The house has a 20-30 year old setup of old superficially rusty rads to which the boiler was retrofitted by an amateur. The hot water tank is uninsulated and about a quarter the size it needs to be.

I'd like to replace with a gas boiler and leave room in the future for a proper upgrade to include solar. It would need to serve 4 adults, with potentially 2 showers running at the same time. House is a badly insulated 30's semi. There is a back boiler in the fireplace with some sort of mysterious pump/valve arrangement which the wood pellet boiler connects to.

Obviously there's more work to do to get it done right but there isn't the money. My plan is:
    New gas boiler
Additional rad connected in kitchen (bringing up to a total of 10 rads)
    Powerflush system
    New hot water tank

Do I need to cover anything else off? I assume the pipework out to the shed needs to be capped off?

Should I be looking at costing around 3k?

3k isn't too far off your estimate. Coujd be more but impossible to predict. Lookin to zoning and then you'd be entitled to seai grant of 750
