Phone hacking protection

Apologies if this is incorrect forum.

So I have a crazy ex who has an incredibly gifted techy friend. Unfortunately my ex mentioned to me once that he had tapped another exs phone calls and listened to the entire thing so bizarre as it may sound I know they are quite capable of this kind of juvenile crap.

I have wondered for a few months if my number was tapped too as I would tell my friend x story on the phone and he would literally say it back to me word for word. Anyway, it all got too weird and we are apart a few weeks now.
My iPhone screen had also been flashing every time I changed what I was doing on the phone - it looked just like a screenshot. I really didn't care until I got a few weird messages so I have now changed my number.

My Q is this, 1.is there any way to prevent further hacking by weirdo exs with too much time on their hands?

I'd start by factory resetting your phone, then put a decent PIN on it and change any passwords for accounts that have access to the data from the phone (e.g. icloud or gmail or whatever).

Depends how worried you are Khannie suggestion seems like a reasonable metered response or you could purchase an old Nokia and become an expert in SNAKE.
