I'm looking for a modem that accepts a 4g sim card that I can just plug into a power outlet and have wifi at all times.

Does anyone know where i can find one and roughly how much it would cost?

    Anyone?

there are lots of different types but depends what you want to do!

Will you be looking for one with LAN ports or just one with wifi only?

    Wifi only is cheaper obviously!

I've used a Huawei B593s one before and it was pretty good although the wifi range was not great.

    This is what you want.

On Dabs it is 208 euro plus delivery. It can be got on amazon for £118 plus delivery. Insert your sim and off you go. It shares the broadband via wireless and has a 4 port switch built in.

Do a search on Amazon UK for TP-LINK TL-MR3020

It's not exactly what you were looking for - it takes a USB dongle rather than just a Sim - but it should provide a cheaper entry point for you. £25 plus the price of a 4G dongle

The TP-LINK M7350 takes a 4G sim. Also available on Amazon for £70.

Then something like a Huawei E5330 4G should do the trick for you, around €50 I think..

The Huawei E8278 is what I'm currently using, which is basically like a MiFi but uses its USB port for power. It's around €60 on eBay. It's a similar size to most other USB 3G/LTE modems and most phone charges with USB outlet will power it fine. I often use it with a USB powerbank for portability which lasts 4 to 5 times longer on battery than my previous battery operated MiFi.

The catch is that you pretty much get what you pay for, i.e. the E8278 has bare minimal features in its GUI and I've never seen a speed higher than 25Mbps with it on 4G. It only supports 5 devices (if I recall right), the Wi-Fi covers just the surrounding rooms and it has no LAN ports.
