Should I do my PPL here or abroad?

Hi, I'm 17 and currently living in Donegal and I've been told a few times it's cheaper to do my ppl in America for say. I am hoping to be a commercial pilot when I'm older and I want to get my PPL done to increase my chances in cadetships programmes. So any recommendations what I should do? Thanks, Seamus
