    Hi all,

Just wondering can you apply for a herd no, on land that is just rented for 1 year?

Also what other requirements are there?

    Thanks

I think it might depend on the dvo but I think a 1 year lease is ok.
the land needs to be stockproof and have no entrances from neighbouring holdings.
You need to have a crush for cattle and some kind of shed where a sick animal can be kept.

you also need a bank account number for payment of grants etc. This farming isn't like being minister for finance back in Bertie Aherns day.

I think to get your own heard number through rented land, it has to be at least a three year lease, although I'm open to being corrected
