i was looking to go over there this summer for a harvest job have no harvest experience but grew up on a dairy farm where we do all our own contracting. i was thinking i would need another reference but have none, do u think i would get away with getting a friend to pretend to be a local agri contractor,
as i have heared that it is just a phone call is make to the past employers the resaon i say this is a lad from my college did this last year and got away with it but im thinking maybe he was just lucky, the friend is a agri mechanic so he would know his stuff

Tell the truth and be up front about your experience. Otherwise you'll be found out in the first five minutes...

They may well think that's the best reference of all.

Tell the truth and ask them to give your father a call if they want to discuss your experience. If you go down the other route you're likely to get found out and then no chance!

I've been over and there's one thing they value is honesty. If you explain your case on your cv and maybe get a some one you do other bits of work for as a reference as well, it should help ya

I don't know what the Irish rates for harvest are but you'll probably be looking at £300 per week ish.

Be honest.itl come out anyway but have the names and phone numbers of a couple of farmers you would have done regular work for. They will be able to vouch for you.most ppl would be reluctant to take one from just your dad(he's hardly going to say your a waste of space!!).

Level 2 agricultural minimum wage, used to be half normal minimum wage years ago when friends of mine employed farm workers.

Most harvest jobs here give around $25 an hour plus food accommodation. Seeding would be around the same.
