I must have dislodged the pipe at the join, when I was taking out the skirting board.

Now i need to fix this. Problem is I know nothing about plumbing. Can anybody step through what i have to do to put in a replacement pipe.

eg I have to cut pipe thats no problem but where do i shut off the water. can I use a plastic pipe and cement the fcuk out of it to use as a replacement or does it need to be copper pipe.
Id like to be able to do it myself. Thanks

Is the joint dripping? If so you could try to tighten the nuts a little. Put a spanner on the central nut and hold it steady while gradually tightening the nut on the end that's leaking. Don't over-tighten, at a guess a quarter turn should be enough.

Yeah its a slow drip jim. Ill try that. It shows how much I dont like pipes and radiators that I couldnt think straight to do that. :)
im always petrified of water and plumbing. I dont know why.

If you do need to replace the pipe is a good opportunity to bring straight down from the RHS valve and under the floor boards. You can use coper pipe or plastic pex pipe.

If it was me I'd use coper from the radiator valve down under the floor, elbow fitting then pipe back over towards the original pipe.

All done and dusted. Just as simple as tightening the nuts. Thanks for that.
