Hardware encryption has been turned off, so it's a step closer to being FTA. :)

    FTV like ITV 2,3&4.

    Happy days :)

It's not FTV, it's still encrypted. As are ITV 2/3/4 HD. They are just not hardware encoded like the majority of the HD channels are so they can be tuned in on non-Sky branded set top boxes with the appropriate valid subscription card and CAM.

Channel 5 HD won't be going FTV, it will just drop encryption completely and be FTA. There is no set date yet but should be happening soon.

They are FTV - They are not FTA.

Completely different. I know they aren't hardware paired either, us enigma lads will be very happy :)

FTV cards are currently opening C5 HD.

Channel 5 HD were recently issued a Freeview licence by Ofcom so expect to see them fill the former BBC3 capacity on the HD mux soonish and replace BBC3 on LCN 105

Are you definitely sure Channel 5 HD is FTV?

ITV 2/3/4/Be in SD are FTA.
ITV 2/3/4/Be in HD are fully encrypted.

So when you say they are "opening like ITV 2/3/4/Be" I'm confused as to what you mean! :D

Also, Channel 5 won't be using the left over capacity of BBC 3's closure, that is being used by CBBC up until 9pm. There is enough space on the PSB3 MUX to accomodate another channel and this is believed to be what Channel 5 HD will use. It is not yet known if they will definitely get 105 though.

Mate of mine just texted me to say his FTV card is opening C5 HD as of this afternoon.

Interesting that they've chosen to go FTV for now and not fully FTA. If they are out of their Sky subscription contract then what could be stopping them from going FTA...?

Wonder will ITV lift the encryption on their HD channels 2,3,4 and Encore now that the buyout of UTV is complete.

Chris, are you sure you don't have a subscription card? No-one else seems to be able to get Channel 5 HD if they aren't paying a subscription.

Also, what versions of ITV 2/3/4/Be are you able to tune in and watch? If it's the SD ones, they are FTA anyway, but if they are the HD ones then you have a subscription card as they are encrypted as well, not FTV. There are only a very small number of FTV channels still in existence.

I have an Irish HD sub and CH5 HD is opening in other channels. I also have a UTV ftv card but it isn't opening with this card.

Yep not working on an FTV now. Only available to HD pack viewers now or the enigma boys.
