We got a stove inserted & two weeks later our carbon monoxide alarm goes off in the middle of the night! Gas board were called & rgi guy & after 24 hrs of no heating we got our heating back on as problem was isolated to the stove. Guy who installed stove came out to check it & said it was fine. We asked for a cert stating that & that it was installed correctly & they refuse to give it. Want to take stove back & don't want the hassle of dealing with us. Does anyone have any advice? Should/are certs issued? Is this common practice? Ultimately we want a (safe!) stove so them taking stove & leaving us with hole in the wall isn't a great solution either!! Also, what type of vent is required in the room? We have one that we can open & close, is this sufficient. One that is constantly opens gives a real draft as its low down

There is no official cert for stoves
The fitting of the stove must meet part j of the Irish building regs
There is a permanently open vent required in the room
The low level vent could be closed and a new vent opened at high level.
There must be a data badge fitted to tell what the flue arrangement is and what fuel it can use
Similar to the attached one it is part of building regs
