    Anyone ever use this lot?

    I made a booking via tripadvisor this morning and it was made through getaroom.com. I've googled them and the word isn't great on them.

    Got a confirmation mail from tripadvisor but should have had one also from getaroom.com and still nothing. Checked their website and the booking is showing as confirmed but worried now about the booking.

    Would have thought if tripadvisor are using them they would have been vetted and of a certain standard.

    Anyone any experience of them?

    My only experience is of a fraudulent transaction on my debit card that was spent on that site.

    I rang them (they only have a US toll free number but got through) and got through to an agent. Asked her about my booking and she confirmed they had it and sent the confirmation "again" - not sure it was ever sent the first time.

    The whole thing sounded odd. Like she was at home in her front room. No usual call centre clamour behind her but maybe I'm reading too much into it.

    Have emailed hotel directly to confirm if they have the booking now.

    Well hotel came back to me and they have the booking so all seems in order. Must keep an eye on the credit card but the value from this site compared to the rest was great - I'm talking €120 compared to €430 with the other sites. Seems to good to be true but all seems to check out.....
