Hi all. I have to lay 800 meteres of water pipe as I have to fence off all water drains for glas so I have to get water down the fields.
Does anybody in the southeast lay water pipe with a mole plough or a similar machine.
Also what size hydrodare should I be using. I haven't a big amount of cattle and the sheep can drink from the drain.
    All info welcome
    Thanks

Will the cost of water and installation not out-weigh the money you get from Glas in the long run ?

I got a price of 1.70 / meter pipe included so I should have it done plus troughs for 2000e
My electric fence stakes wire etc should cost around the same
So my first years payment should go a long way on it hopefully

My late uncle left all his water pipes on the surface, his idea was that if there was a leak it was easy to find/repair also if the pipes froze they would thaw quicker when on the surface than when underground. They are still overground, running along the ditches & no problems with them.

The whole idea of burying them is to avoid them getting damaged and to protect them from frost

Can get damaged underground too. Put pipes here on top six years ago, will never bury pipe again.

Auld lad would be of the same thinking, only problems we have with the pipes is the shotgun! Water turned off once cows are housed.

Either hanrahan plant or Terra. Both around the same price which I did a job in the back end.

could i ask how much per metre? and how much did u do or what type of job did you do?

Give them a call. Think its around €2.10 per meter ploughed in. If you're doing under 1500 meters they might charge more
