Hi. I don't know if this is the right place to post but I have come across a bike and yellow jersey that Sean kelly rode while winning the 1990 tour of Switzerland with a signed certificate of authenticity.
Just wondering what the value of this would be.

Not at the moment. Won't be able to get any for a few days but it looks perfect. Last person to ride it was Sean kelly as it has been stored since

It shouldn't be hard to verify the authenticity of it. Tour of Switzerland is not the tour de France though.
If you are buying it as memorabilia I think you should seek professional expert advice in this field, but if you feel you are getting a bargain and can afford it then you should probably go for it.

What condition is the bike in?
What group set is on it?

You'll have to ask his wife to take them out of storage first .. she has ownership of them ..

What's it worth ? It really is how long is a piece of string - the bike should be worth a couple of grand, not sure what the jersey is worth..

Before buying I'd check the size of the bike to see is it in the right ballpark for a Kelly fit.

Here's a photo of one I found on the net a while back from '91 season.

What's it worth? About 3 years ago I saw a mint condition bike, ex pro, almost identical to the one pictured sell for €1300. If it's really a Kelly bike it might be worth a bit more but hard to say.

Yes that's a 1991 alright. Kelly and most of the team were using chorus callipers as opposed to c record deltas or cobolto brakes. It's a lovely bike - I think the frame was Columbus tsx.

This is the bike I was talking about that sold for €1300. That was back in 2010. It was claimed to have been owned by a PDM Team mechanic. It has ergopower levers so probably from '92 or '93.

Call me old fashioned, but I could look at that forever.
    It's straight, simple; beautiful really.
Not like those new fangled yokes. :D

Sean Kelly has asked me to track down some of his old bikes.
OP, I'll be happy to collect it from you, and drop it off at his place. I won't charge or nawthin' like.

    Hi all,

Much as I might like the bike, I'd really love the jersey! From my limited experience of two race bikes both have seized seatposts - can't say why, but just check that for yourself.

The other thing to note of the PDM frames is they also had Ultima decals on the seattube (was Ultima there jersey brand?).

What it's worth: my guess on these things is that either you get them at a great deal, or you fork out what you think it's worth. And if you do but it at a high price always believe that there's one person out there (in the world, not in Ireland!) who will pay a € more than you paid for it!

Hi all . how much does a testicle go for these days, I have my own so haven't had the need to price them lol. I'm not interested in the bike myself , the owner asked me what it would be worth so I said I would try to find out for him. Thanks for all the replies, makes for interesting reading and a good laugh. These are a few photos. Hope they upload

The logo on the frame was Ultech not Ultima i believe , they made some of the dropouts on the 1990's model frames. I had a 1989 ex team frame and it had campagnolo dropouts (bought for cash at 1989 carrick xmas hamper race). I think you seen it Brendan at the Shay Elliott run we did a few years ago. (ultima did make the jersey though, I still have a couple).
