Boosting broadband signal

Anyone know anyone in the Clare/Limerick area installing antennas to boost broadband speeds. The only internet I can get in my area is 3G from a 3 dongle and it's very poor speed at less than 1mbs. A family member up the country had a guy install some kind of antenna which boosted his signal and he now gets speeds of up to 10mbs. I was wondering if there was anyone local to me that could do the same thing for me? Any help would be appreciated.

It totally depends on whether your problem is poor reception or an overloaded mast. An antenna only helps the former.

I guess that's why I need someone who knows what they are doing, it's not really an area I know much about.

If you have a laptop and figure out the general direction of the mast you could drive closer and check
