New to this whole running thing. Doing a couch to 5k at the moment and am 5 weeks into it. So myself and my running buddy decided we'd try do the Rainbow Run in Dun Laoghaire in June. I know it's ages away but this time last year I was an obese individual that got out of breath walking up the stairs so committing to a 5k really is a big deal! Tickets are on sale tomorrow but there's no indication of price anywhere on the site. Anybody done this before and have an idea of how much it is?

Obviously didn't look hard enough! Thanks so much. We never really planned on running for anything other than fitness but this caught our eye so by booking this we're making the commitment of still running in a few months time.

Just check the route. I did the rainbow run a few years ago & flew it and got a PB.

Then I realised the route was actually only 4km.

Also, rainbow run is a company. Lots of charities (irish cancer society for one) do these colour run events in the summer too where proceeds go to charity.

Well done on running though :)

I took part in this last year and as above it's definitely not a 5k just about 4 I would say, I was a bit underwhelmed by it all to be honest. Very expensive and not a penny towards charity, they then charge you extra to buy pouches of coloured powder and extra again if you want a t shirt. Route is so congested that you have to walk in parts. The cancer society do one in the Phoenix Park so if I was doing another colour run I would go with this! Also the huge water slide advertised last year was tiny and closed by the time we go to it!
