Amazon moves into online food shopping

Amazon is continuing it's relentless push into every market conceivable. It announced today that it will be selling fresh and frozen food for delivery, in some places under an hour in the UK. This puts it in direct competition with the likes of Tesco to grab a huge portion of the online food shopping market (expected to be worth £17 BILLION in the UK within 4 years). What do you think....would you do your weekly shop online with Amazon?

They are setting themselves up to be your one stop shop for pretty much anything you need, ever. There's rumours they will be entering the fast food delivery market aswell, and may shake up global freight shipping which is notoriously difficult, taking months to get prices and book capacity. The offshoot of which will be lower prices for all of us. And don't forget the drone delivery service they're working on.

I know they're not supposed to be great to work for, but damn you have to admire their drive.

The drone deliveries will never take off. The grocery shopping is probably a good idea. Not one I would jump at, but I can see the appeal, and I think they would do it better than the high street supermarkets.

It sound like a return to the delivery boy and his bicycle.
Amazon will be sure to be heavy on the delivery charges.

I already get most of my groceries delivered anyway. It'll be great to have even more choice. :)

    Nah,

I like the food shopping and going up the middle isle in Aldi & Lidl.

Limited market . Housewives like to go shopping to spot the bargains.

    Hey so do the lads!

Never know when your going to get a good deal on scuba diving gear, generators, power tools or a cement mixer.

Any of the food items they sell are usually grossly overpriced already.
