Witness served a summons before defendant

    It seems to be a bit odd. Surely the defendant has to be notified before the witness.

    Can anyone clarify if this would be grounds for a dismissal?

    Why do you think the order of the service of the various summons is significant or 'odd'? The summons were probably issued at the same time from the court office but served at different times because of different circumstances concerning the summons server and/or the work or lifestyle patterns of the defendant and witness.

    As long as each summons was served within the time limit, it makes no odds whether the witness summons was served before or after the defendant summons.

    Yeh tooshay as above,
    There are loads of circumstances and while it may seem odd it isn't.
    Both could live in different areas, summonses served by different Garda stations and by different Gardai that have more work to do
