Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Jarrett for me. I felt he made the belt important. While Hardy introduced that atrocity shown in his pic there.

I took a serious disliking to Jeff Hardy after the way he turned up to face Sting, stoned off his face. Sullied everything he has done, and ever will do in my eyes

I said it before and I'll say it again, JJ was only bested by Roode for favourite TNA champion. I may just be a huge mark for the man, but I'll vote for JJ the whole way through.

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 52,249 Mod ✭✭✭✭Necro

Damn. I'm a huge Hardy fan and was hoping he'd run into anyone other than Jarrett or AJ in this round... Have to go for Jarrett though. Mr. TNA and all...

Jeff Hardy. I was happy to see him get to be a big fish in a pond when he moved over to TNA.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 32,956 ✭✭✭✭Omackeral

Hardy crashes and burns as one of the founding fathers of the company books his spot in the semi finals. Who will join him there?

Angle. One of the best ever in WWE or TNA. Had some classics with Joe and others over the belt too.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,491 ✭✭✭thebostoncrab

As tough as it is to say, I'm sticking with my guns and Bobby Roode. Angle helped make the belt feel important, but Bobby Roode made the belt feel like the most important thing in the world. I adored his run, from when he didn't win it at first to finally getting the belt, Roode was a great champion. Angle is the better wrestler, Roode is the better champion.

Roode. He was a great heel champion. Kurt has never really been about titles and more about just being a ****ing great worker.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,755 ✭✭✭✭beakerjoe

oode for me. He was tremendous as champ. Pity Tna handled him poorly after his reign

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,301 ✭✭✭✭gerrybbadd

Kurt for me. The best wrestler in the last 15 years.

The Leader of the Selfish Generation has too much for the Olympic Hero and dispatches one of the finest wrestlers of this or any other era. We now have our four semi finalists...and they're ready to go right now! First to FOUR votes takes his place in the final.

AJ for me. Brought tna to another level, good and all as JJ was.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,755 ✭✭✭✭beakerjoe

Tough one.... Mr TNA vs Mr TNA......

AJ for me, he was born in TNA and was made into a star. This could easily be a final match.

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 52,249 Mod ✭✭✭✭Necro

I'm going AJ here, but this really should be the final. Tough draw for JJ.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,003 ✭✭✭ShagNastii

Both huge players in the history of TNA. A big fan of both. My vote goes to Double JJ. A lot of his runs were entertaining for a load of reasons, probably a bit underated TBH.

My lasting memories of TNA is through its hot patch 2004-2007. I'd link AJ more to the X-division and tag titles. Double J at my viewing peak was always King of the mountain (TNA champ)

AJ. As big as JJ was for TNA, my perception of him as a champ is a bit tarnished by the fact that he was part owner of the company. Not as bad as something like Vinny Mac becoming the ECW champion and holding it for a month, but it did feel like a lot of Jarrett's time as champ was for that reason.

AJ remains one of the best things to come from TNA on the other hand.

AJ has too much stroke for Double J to get past and therefore becomes our first finalist. Who will join him there? Let's find out. First to four.

"Do you know who I am?"...........Bully Ray gets my vote. He is the last relevant TNA champion. He wasnt just TNAs top heel, he was the top heel in the whole business. TNA messing up the Aces n Eights was really the last straw.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,042 ✭✭✭✭chopperbyrne

    Bully Ray

I doubt we'll ever again see a twenty year tag team specialist reinvent himself as the top heel in a company.

Bully Ray for me too. Reasons as above and given before.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,003 ✭✭✭ShagNastii

Ace and 8s overall was a complete turd but his restyling and new image was class. Who would have guessed just how good either was to become but Bully Ray just pips Roode.

    Bubba FTW.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,491 ✭✭✭thebostoncrab

I know it's too late, but Bobby does not deserve a white wash here. Bobby FTW

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 32,956 ✭✭✭✭Omackeral

And then there were two... I'll leave this run until tomorrow and whoever garners most votes wins.

Gotta be AJ. When I think TNA I think him.

He had/has everything you look for in a champ, the guy you want to lead your company. Total credibility, five star workrate and a juggernaut of popularity with the fans.

    AJ Styles.

It is great to see another tournament crop up. It is always nice to see the views of all the PW heads. This was fairly short and sweet, dya fancy doing another?

AJ all the way. Mr TNA. Hes won it all, hes fought them all and hes plain better than them all

I agree with everything Shagnastii posted above. Yet I'm voting for Bully Ray. For me, the best transformation (bar possibly JBL) of a tag team legend to the biggest singles heel in the business. The stable Aces and 8s was a pile of garbage but Bully was still significant. He's not going to win, and he probably shouldn't, but he gets my vote anyways.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,146 ✭✭✭Kankan14

    AJ for the win.

If u asked yourself to name one superstar have another run as TNA champ to try get the company halfway back to their better days, who would that be? For me its AJ all day.

I'm doing an X-Division one next! Research is already in the Kankan can.

I second this idea. Stunned there has been no WWE title tournament or even a WCW one!!! All of those ideas are great though.

AJ. Bully's evolution from a tag team guy to a main eventer was extremely impressive, but there's no way I can vote against Styles here. He was one of the pillars of TNA for years, and the only real negatives I have about his reigns are the sh*tty ways TNA had him lose the title: To RVD, and then that absurd farewell match against Magnus where nearly a dozen people attacked him.

Gonna let this run a couple more hours so all the voters can get their voices heard. Then we'll announce the winner.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,804 ✭✭✭A Brad Maddox Guy

I loved Bully Ray becoming a legit main event heel even if TNA blew the Aces & 8s massively. I remember how excited I was when Bubba returned at the Royal Rumble on his own & I thought they would run with him on his own, and my disappointment when he wasn't seen again for ages. So he gets my vote despite AJ being TNA's biggest star.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,846 ✭✭✭Moneymaker

AJ. Bully was awesome, he reinvented himself, but AJ was the backbone of the company. Even when he was booked into oblivion he had the best matches, he was the most over guy. He always carried the title with pride.

    AJ for me.

Ladies and Gentlemen, you have spoken and the ultimate winner of the PW Boards TNA Heavyweight Championship Tournament is none other than the Phenomenal One himself...

    AJ Styles
