First of all apologies in advance if this has been asked but I couldn't find an existing thread on this.

Anyway I'm planning on leaving the car in the airport for 10 days and have booked into the short-term car park. If anyone has used it just to clarify, do you ignore the sign for T2 parking that goes right and follow the sign for the departures drop off? So you go over the pedestrian crossing and it is on the left?

    Thanks.

There are 3 short term car parks in the airport - A C and T2. A and C are in the old car park building - you follow the signs for T1 parking and A is on the left and C is further on as if you are exiting the car park. T2 Short Term - follow T2 parking signs and you take a left before the T2 Plus entrance, it is in the new parking building. The T2 surface car park is past the short term car park. They are well signposted and there are good maps on the website - http://www.dublinairport.com/Libraries/Airside_access/Car_routes_5.sflb.ashx

If you have booked into the Short Term, you have not booked the Surface car park.

I wouldn't consider 10 days to be 'short term' when it comes to airport parking, are you sure you know how much it's going to cost and have you looked at the other options available in the area? DAA 'short term' is easily going to be the most expensive of the lot for 10 days.

Thanks for the replies. It's actually going to be 12 days (I forgot), and the price is €109.95 which is fine considering I was paying more than that (2 ways) the last time I got a taxi over 10 years ago.
Total cost: EUR 109.95 (incl EUR 20.56 VAT )

Car Park: Terminal 2 Surface Car Park - Special Offer

I work on your logic too - if it's less than a taxi it's fine with me.

That short walk to the terminal is going to cost you exactly €61. I checked parking in the Clayton Hotel (formerly Bewleys) - arrive 5 a.m. March 1st, depart 4 p.m. March 12th i.e. 12 days inclusive - €48.95. The shuttle bus takes 10 minutes from the hotel to the airport coach park.

So what? The OP is happy to pay it. (And I've spent plenty of time hanging around in the freezing cold waiting for that Bewley's bus).

I always use the Red car park - it's very reasonabe, the shuttle buses are very frequent and leave you just about to the door of the terminal.

    Well spotted.

OP, you can cancel and rebook if you're not too close to your travel date.

I thought it was fine?l as long as it was cheaper than a taxi?

OP, totally up to you, if you're happy to pay that that's fair enough, or see link above for the 25% discount.
Also there is a bargains alert link for the quickpark / long term. I have always used the blue or quickpark and longest you'll be waiting for a bus is literally a few minutes, and there is shelters if it's raining.

Just checked quickpark there, using promo code DOGS (CINEMA is another but doesn't give as much discount), and €40 euro for 12 days:
    QuickPark - Parking
    Entry: 05/03/2016 09:00
    Exit: 17/03/2016 09:00

Also as a point, it is done on days, so say you're in the airport at 6pm and flying home at 1pm, use the full day allowance as the price is the same. i.e do the time as 5pm on both entry and exit, allowing you to get there earlier and leave carpark later incase you get delayed slightly.

    Red long term - €55.
    Blue long term €46.
