We are selling our 2011 VW Touran. What sites do people use to advertise?

Carzone and maybe Donedeal. Adverts unfortunately isn't any good.

    Why not?
    Sold 2 cars through adverts.
Found 3 different ones which I bought.

Carzone and Donedeal I would say. Spend time on your advert, look at all adverts for the same model of your car to see what price they are going for in order to gauge what is a good price to put yours at. Make sure you take the maximum number of photos the advery allows and include internal as well as external photos with the car cleaned and all items removed from it.

This is a good read if you have never sold a car privately before, one of the most important things is that you send the VLC away at time of sale and not the buyer...

    Hi SSO,

    Atlantic Dawn giving good advice.

Realistic price for your car (have a look at similar cars and note how long they have been on DoneDeal etc and the number of views -if its there more than 8 weeks something is wrong- overpriced)
Photos: plenty of good photos (think your allowed 10 on Donedeal) 4-5 of outside, 1 x boot/hatch, back seats, front seats, Dash area.
Description: Give a good honest description of the car (list all the specs)

Network: Let people know you are selling your car (Work, Club, family etc). People prefer to know the history of the car they are buying. Someone you know might be happy to purchase your car.

You don't mention replacing the car - so I presume trade-in is not an option.

NCT: a valid in-date NCT makes a BIG difference (not having one makes buyers cautious)

Be prepared to haggle down a little. People will expect to get a few Euros off when they are finalising the deal (it's just human nature)
I wonder do "ads" that state final price-no offers ever get any response (maybe its just me).

If the car is in GMO and you set a reasonable price you will have no problems.
If you wish to pm me (mileage, fuel, trans, nct, price) - I know a co-worker is looking for something similar (moving up from a Mazda 5)

    Best of Luck

Because in general it tends to be full of people who want you to swap with their stuff or you get offers of half your asking price and they get upset when you turn it down. Of course there are always exceptions but in generally it can depend on the car your selling and it's value.
