Timer for oil heating

Hello, quick query. We recently put in a new boiler and timer. We think we have the time set properly but it keeps coming on outside these set times and not at the actual set times. Any advice and do we need a plumber or an electrician for this ? Thanks, Sharon

You need to get the installer back. Poor installs can cause that to happen. Installer must sort it.

Also make/model of boiler and timer would be of help to us in trying to work out what's going on.

Do you have a frost stat fitted, if so it will fire the boiler occasionally when outside temperatures are near close to zero to protect the boiler from freezing.

Thanks to you both. Is it an electrician or a plumber who would typically have installed it, I cant remember who did this ? I will note the make and model too. Thanks again. Sharon.

Some plumbers and some electricians are good at doing it. Also some are not. You need to explain what you need and ask if they are used to doing such work.
