    Hi folks,

I'm likely going to buy the car on Tues.23rd Feb. from a Skoda dealer.

    - 2008 Skoda Superb 1.9tdi 115bhp
    - 170,000km with a FSH from Main Dealers
    - Timing-Belt was done @120k (as specified by Skoda)
    - NCT expiry is Jan-2018
    - Looks like the price will be e6,500.
    - I spoke with the owner (don't know him) who bought it with 55k on the clock & he drove it til 170k without any issues ... he seemed a nice guy & knew most service dates of the top of his head which matched the service book that I was looking at.
    - Driver & passenger foot-wells seem dry (no glaring evidence of the known issues with water leaking in on some Superbs).
    - I drove it; seems grand but f-all torque ... my 130bhp Golf would eat it alive.
    - I have zero knowledge of cars & what to look & listen for.

    - The dealer has offered a 3-month warranty (engine & transmission).

Q1. What do ye think of that warranty?
Q2. Any comments on getting a Superb re-mapped for increased torque ... price/who/where/other comments?

    Ta very much folks,
    T

1 - On an 8 year old car your not really going to get a very comprehensive warranty.
    2 - No idea

If there's less than a years NCT left on it I would insist on the dealer putting it through a voluntary NCT where it would have 2 years from the date they get it tested, will give you some peace of mind that there's nothing major wrong with it on the horizon. That or as a condition of sale they would fix anything that it fails on if you put it through NCT in those first 3 months.
