BMW Suspension Airbag Replacement

I have a 2011 520d Touring which looks like has a leaking airspring (airbag) in the passenger rear suspension. Noticed it on Sat as car was sitting very low when I came out, once you turn it on it pumps up again but you can hear the leak so obviously going to get worse.

Rang main dealer this morning and quote €850 for replacement

Looking online the genuine part seems to be around 400-500 but non-OEM available for ~250.

I dont have an indy I use as car was under service pack and always went back to main dealer up to now but what do you think ? Would probably be half the cost with an indy and non-OEM but is it worth it ? Any recommendations for good BMW Indy in Cork also appreciated...

Edit - seems like the correct term is 'Air Spring' not Airbag....cant edit the title!

Anyone know where to find info on BMW Recalls...

A bit of Googling seems to imply there is a 'known' issue with the left side airspring although most info I can find is a recall on the GT version in the US but references to it being an issue on European F11 also which would be me.

Hope its OK to link to other forums...:

    Go OEM.

Similar problem with a Merc went with German company with specialise in Aero Sus'pension. ;)

    Don't go near them, Useless!!

    Replaced with OEM afterwards.

It's not a big or difficult job. Get the airbag on ebay for about €150. Replace it yourself. Takes an hour at most.

I admire your enthusiasm but I can absolutely guarantee you it would take me more than an hour :D

Anyway its still in the garage waiting on decision from BMW regarding any goodwill....
