Why do you need to know his/her opinion ? it isn't required. Seems to be a thing on boards of people getting their knickers in a twist about what others think.

I didn't want to colour the OP with my personal opinion. I'd prefer people read it and post their thoughts based on the content alone.

I didn't read it. Has Louise van Neill stopped managing Liverpool United?

Round here, we do our own homework.

That "no evidence is not the same as didn't happen" paragraph reminds me of that classic Simpsons episode.

How can you write so much and have such entrenched opinions on something you've never seen, have no idea of its content and can't even say for sure whether it even exists?

I read that article earlier. I understand her concerns about "frat" culture but a little thing I found weird about the article was the way she felt compelled to mention that she packed raunchy lingerie for a date - and the fact she packed raunchy lingerie at all.
If she is concerned about women being sexualised, why contribute to it, even if in a tiny way?! No woman actually HAS to wear raunchy lingerie on a first date (just be clean and wear reasonably presentable lingerie - there's a wide variety between dowdy granny underwear and bondage lingerie!) and she of all people should surely be aware of that!

But surely that's the whole point of starting a thread? Otherwise you're just copying and pasting a whole article and everyone else will wait until you give your opinion and start a discussion on the article you just posted. Was there anything in particular in the article you wanted to discuss?

Why do people make assumptions about what is or isn't required without reading the charter?:p

It seems to me her opinion of men is coloured more by men she hasn't met than by the men she has.

That was painful to read, my eyes glazed over halfway through, do they not teach journo's how to write anymore? So many words about **** all.

This is a discussion forum not a news dump.

Mod- As the great Dr said, http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showpost.php?p=63152622&postcount=21

Not every news story needs a thread on After Hours. Don't just post up a link to a news article just because nobody else has. Add something to it. Your own point of view.
If you do start a thread, be prepared to contribute to it yourself, especially if you expect others to do so.
