Fed up on job hunt.

I've been on the job hunt for a while now, and so far no joy. I have a feeling I may, or may not be falling through the cracks somewhere! Here's my deal:

Experienced in A, but went back to do a Masters in 2013 - 2015 in B.

A and B can and do overlap in some ways but not always. I'd be experienced in A, and obviously relatively new to B.

In theory, I could look for two types of jobs, in field A or B.

Problem is, because I went back to study, I took a step back from A, but I'm not experienced enough in B.

I have found that people are cagey about looking at my CV for job A, as they seem to assume I went back to uni to do something else. But I don't have enough experience to get a job in B.

Bar an internship since graduation, I've been unlucky. I've had a few interviews, but didn't get the jobs. In my late 30s. Could this be going against me? Too old for holiday visas. I'm tempted to just emigrate at this stage.

Anyone in a similar position, or anyone who has been?

What are A and B? Just say it straight out. Otherwise prepare for several (or no) answers meandering around and in all likelihood totally missing the point.

Do you want advice or a 'there there hun it'll get better xx' kind of reply? ;)

Yeah man I'm in a similar situation. Except B is badly paid for around 3 years. At the start I was terrible at interviews now having had plenty of practice I'm actually breezing through them but still no joy. Last one was 50 mins but flew. I've also interviewed for C & D as there is overlap there.
It's a mix of overqualified and under experienced. Did an internship in B as well.

A = digital marketing (PPC mainly)
B = content (studied journalism with the intention of enhancing the skill set for A)

So far, no joy. I have languages, but I'm not a native speaker, so it's another tricky area to navigate.

I've even gone down the road of getting in touch with companies where I think I'd *like* to work, but am only getting mixed results. Which is fair enough I suppose. People may or may not always reply to a random email/query.

I've been looking at the UK as well, but may just have to make the leap soon. While there's also continental Europe, that's another challenge....

Perhaps I should accept the fact that I'll be another statistic/emigrant and roll with it!

I'm also working part time in an unrelated area.

Have your thought about doing freelance to build up your resume for content writing? Maybe somewhere like elance or fiverr (yes, crap pay but resume items), or even approaching some SMEs or charitable organisations?

Do you have tangible results on your CV?

No. of leads generated from particular campaigns?
    Sales from same?
Site visit increases from your content?
    etc. etc. etc.
