I've recently bought a house. I requested someone to service the boiler, and he tells me it is corroded beyond safe use.

    1. Am I eligible for a grant for replacement?
    2. How long does grant approval take?
    3. Do quotes from engineers include the grant?

You are eligible if the house was built pre 2005 I think. You'd have to check.
Grant approval takes maybe ten minutes online.
All quotes differ. Quotes should specify if the grant has been deducted or not. Seeing as the grant is the customers responsibility, then really the plumber shouldn't be pricing for it.
The plumber you choose has to be registered with seai for the grant.
And finally, there's no grant for a boiler change.
It must be boiler upgrade and heating controls, or just heating controls on there own
