    Well All,

Quick question does these Garda cameras located in towns monitored/looked at 24/7 or only checked if there are any incidents in the area.

    Thanks.

I'd say recorded 24 hours a day and recordings backed up for a month plus. They are likely on in a control room with lots of others on monitors and if something spotted they are manually moved to the scene of the action, otherwise nothing done with them.

What do you mean when u say manually, like they can rotate 360 degree. I thought they were only point one way sort of cameras.

There are 3 cameras in the picture you posted. The one on top can rotate 360 and see everywhere, the one below looks like it can only tilt up and down but is most likely fixed ( it looks like an ANPR camera), the bottom one is only blocked by where the pole is behind it. Not sure how sophisticated the software used in the control rooms is but the better software can spot unusual activity and put that camera onto the main screen, but they are all recording and can be checked back over at any time.

    What did you do?

I rolled at a stop sign instead of fully stoping. Obviously if the camera were being looked at, at that moment in time they would have seen what happened. I know they can fine you for not fully stopping at a stop sign. But will they thats the question.

Well that sounds a bit far-fetched to be honest, I certainly wouldn't worry about it...

Very few if any people are fined due to these kind of cameras, they are looking out for accidents and crimes.
