First song on Century was Missing You by Chris de Burgh. BBC Radio 1 was Flowers in the Rain.

I thought Radio Ireland's opener was actually One by U2.

Was One by U2 not the first song on Today FM?

First song played on Radio Nova when it officially launched: You Shook Me All Night Long by ACDC.

According to Wikipedia, the first song played on Q102, when it officially relaunched itself, was Night Fever by the Bee Gees. Does anyone know what the first song for Lite FM was (its original name)?

    Sunshine "hot hits" 101.

First song - "The Rabbit kicked the bucket" by Bugs Bunny

Over and over and over again for about 6 hours - and Pat Courtenay was in the studio.

Idea was that Bill Cunningham (rip) the radio doctor from nebraska was getting rid of all the old Sunshine Radio listeners and wanted a totally fresh start.

Then for 4 weeks it was totally commercial free.

Within 3 months it had 40% listnership level.

Lyric Fm, 1st May 1999. First piece played was The Hallelujah Chorus from Handel's Messiah.

    It's been downhill ever since.

If it was launching in the morning, first song would probably be
My Old Man's a Dustman by Lonnie Donegan.

    What a sh1thouse it's become.

First song on Phantom FM was Smashing Pumpkins - Today.

Can't remember but I think Simon Maher might have been first presenter.

Not sure what the first song was after they rebranded to TXFM.
