Where to buy dates and not pay a fortune?

Making a lot of food with dates as an ingredient lately (home made Nakd bars and alternative key lime pie being two particularly delicious options! ) and finding dates expensive and not always easy to get.

Any ideas/options for bricks and mortar or online stores that would be better value?

    Thanks!

I get amazing dates in the Islamic Centre in Clonskeagh. A box of 50ish costs €2.80 and they are gooey, toffeey and so tasty. They are the best I've found so far.

Cheers. At the risk of asking a daft question, is there a supermarket or something similar there?

Yes, there is a great food shop in the Islamic Cultural centre. They have lots of interesting middle eastern ingredients and good value in large bags of rice. Well worth a trip.

The restaurant is great as well. Its a casual place where you queue to get the food at the counter, but the food is amazing.

Yes as Husker said there is a small shop to the left of the restaurant but they have amazing spices, dates olives and other tasty food items. Worth a visit.
