I have a 2010 Fiat Panda. Approx 100k on the clock. Probably valued at €4.5-€5K.

Looking to move to a Volvo V50 or a Saab 93. Would prefer the V50 1.6D.

With my trade in would I be realistic in a trade in price of mine + €1k for 2007/2008 in either mode?

I don't think many dealers will take the trade at that value. €1k to them in cash and then they have to sell, service and stand over your panda.

What's the sticker price on the cars you are looking at?

There are one or two 2010 Pandas with less mileage asking 5k from dealers, so there is very little chance of getting that sort of money for one as a trade-in unless they add it back onto the price of the car you are buying off them.

A garage will want a lot more than 1k from you to do a deal, they need to make money on the deal by buying your car at a price where they need to prep it for resale and give the buyer a warranty, as well as give you a warranty on the car you buy from them.

Good luck with getting a €1k cost to change. €4-€4.5k is retail price for your panda. I'd say if you can get €2.5-€3k cost to change you'd be doing well.

good to know its not realistic. Might need to adjust my year which I'd be ok with

Would stuff like new nct (being done next week), new tax, very good condition, new tyres etc help

Will make your car more sellable but won't increase it's value to a dealer by much and they will still need to make money from any deal you want to do with them. If you're doing that to the car why not just try selling it privately yourself?

Probably makes sense to sell privately

I'd have a go at selling it privately if you don't mind the hassle.

The only reason I am thinking of trading would be less down time without a car. Its used every day of the week and would be a hassle not to have one but I'd figure it out.
